Traffic Signals
Solid Green Light
Proceed through the intersection — but only after yielding to pedestrians and vehicles already in it.
What This Sign Means
A green light gives you the right to proceed straight or turn (unless signs prohibit it), but it is not an absolute right-of-way. You must still yield to anyone lawfully in the intersection.
What You Should Do
Check the intersection is clear before entering. When turning left on a green light, yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians, and wait with your wheels straight.
Knowledge Test Tip
Trick question favourite: green does NOT mean 'go immediately' — it means proceed when the intersection is clear. Left turns on green must yield to oncoming traffic.
