Traffic Signals
Green Arrow Signal
A green arrow gives you a protected turn in the direction shown — oncoming traffic is stopped.
What This Sign Means
During a green arrow, conflicting traffic and pedestrians face red. It's the only time a left turn doesn't require yielding to oncoming vehicles.
What You Should Do
Proceed in the arrow's direction, but stay alert for red-light runners and pedestrians who entered late.
Knowledge Test Tip
Green arrow = protected turn. When the arrow ends and a solid green remains, you may still turn but must now yield to oncoming traffic.
