No U-Turn Sign

A U-shaped arrow with a red slash means U-turns are prohibited at this location.

What This Sign Means

U-turns are banned where this sign is posted because of limited visibility or heavy traffic. Even without the sign, U-turns are illegal in many places: on curves, near hills, and at alley intersections.

What You Should Do

Continue to a location where a U-turn or safe alternative (like going around the block) is permitted.

Knowledge Test Tip

The test asks where U-turns are always illegal even without a sign: on a curve, approaching the crest of a hill, at alleys, and anywhere you can't see 150 metres in both directions.
