Left Turn Arrow to Green Sequence
When a green left arrow ends and the light turns solid green, you may still turn left — but you must now yield to oncoming traffic.
What This Sign Means
Many intersections give left-turners a protected arrow at the start of the cycle, then switch to a permissive solid green. The rules change the moment the arrow disappears.
What You Should Do
During the arrow: turn freely. After it ends: pull forward only when safe, keep wheels straight while waiting, and complete the turn when oncoming traffic clears — even if that's as the light turns yellow.
Knowledge Test Tip
If you're already in the intersection waiting to turn left when the light turns red, you may (and should) complete your turn — a frequent test scenario.
